Immunization Information Systems 101: What Every Program Manager Should Know (Web-based)

Course Number: WB1267

This self-study program offers an introductory overview to the field of immunization information systems (IIS). IIS are confidential, computerized information systems that collect vaccination data about children. They help generate reminders, produce vaccination records and consolidate records from multiple sources.

This 60 minute training module is targeted to those who work in the IIS community, mostly on the state, local and regional levels. It will serve as a reliable, up-to-date source for ground-level training and orientation for this group. It is intended for use primarily by those new to IIS such as new IIS managers, programmers, immunization program staff, or their partners who may use IIS. In addition, the module can be used to educate immunization providers and new partners on the basic principles and functions of IIS.
