While I do not know the answer to that question...I will pass along my
limited experience with the MD format. Some years ago we used it at the
radio station I worked at. It was a fine format for Public Service
announcements...etc.
My concern for the longevity of the format has nothing to do with the
format itself, but a problem I encountered with one particular machine.
Having used the format for several years, and not having any
problems, placing a disc in that particular machine (which had worked fine
for yeas) and adding a track, somehow caused the entire disc to be erased...
