Dissatisfaction with the shortcomings of the presently-available portables led me to buy a Sound Devices 744T, mainly because I admire this company's preamps. People who record sound for film & tv seem to like it, but I think that the designer made too many poor ergonomic decisions. While it provides a remarkable range of facilities, I find it just too hard to use. Unfortunately, I couldn't afford a Nagra V. David Lewiston ----- Original Message ----- From: "Richard L.
