-----Original Message----- From Dismuke: "You call a GOVERNMENT PANEL setting prices FREE ENTERPRISE?" Then why did the Digital Media Organization lobby Congress to have this government arbitration panel set up and then refuse to make any offer two years ago forcing the rates into arbitration? Satellite radio had no problem negotiating a mutually equitable deal with SoundExchange. I'd suggest that you take the time to do your homework and separate the facts from the Silicon Valley investment banking community's spin. You'll find that these guys are no friend to small webcasters. Your future really depends on knowing the facts about this issue as does that of my artist clients. Otherwise there will only be Yahoo, CheapChannrl, Apple, Micro$oft and AOL taking over from the major labels. This return to a 1920s "business model" will leave artists lucky to get any credits, much less royalties.
