I don't know how else to get back into the fray, except to change the 
Subject line here.

Regarding the conductor and violinist of the Trocadero Orchestra in London 
in August 1898, Bob Hodge says that his name was Leopold, according to 
Arnold's book "The Orchestra on Record - 1896-1926"  Fred Gaisberg also says 
Leopold.  Alan Kelly lists his recordings as J. Jacobs or J. J. Jacobs, 
while all the records I have seen - both of them - say G. Jacobs.

Incidentally, Bob Hodge, the Mendelssohn Violin Concerto recordings are 
listed in Kelly's unlettered catalog  as
