JOB OPENING: CONTRACT CATALOGUER, Audio Preservation (SAN FRANCISCO, CA) Other Minds, Inc. (www.otherminds.org) Other Minds (OM) is one of a very few international avant-garde music organizations based in the United States and maintains a highly regarded annual festival (now in its 12th year), a CD label, a weekly radio program (Music from Other Minds) on KALW-FM, and a substantial website (www.radiOM.org) that offers hours of free access to new music concerts and interviews for listeners around the world interested in contemporary music. radiOM represents a part of our efforts to preserve and make publicly available over 50 years of live music, interviews, and lectures by some of the most innovative artists and composers of the 20th century. [Please visit https://radiom.org/history.php <file://localhost/history.php> for more information on the project] OM seeks a cataloguer to help design and implement a cataloging system for our archive that meets the needs of the organization as well as the needs and standards of partner organizations and institutions who will be accessing the material in the future. Qualifications: - An MLS degree or the equivalent in training and experience - Experience cataloging sound recordings or other music materials - Knowledge of current archival practices and standards, trends in access to digital information - Experience with database management - Excellent interpersonal, analytical, written, verbal, organizational, and computer skills. - Music degree and knowledge of classical and new music a plus Compensation: Position is full-time, approx 35 hrs per week, duration of 1-2 years, then on a consultant basis as needed.
