UNAIDS Executive Director meets French minister of Foreign and European Affairs

15 January 2009—UNAIDS Executive Director Michel Sidibé met French minister of Foreign and European Affairs Bernard Kouchner at the Quai d’Orsay, Paris. They exchanged views on accelerating the global AIDS response to achieve universal access to HIV prevention, treatment, care and support services.

 

HIV prevention hampered by homophobia

HIV prevention interventions for men who have sex with men (MSM) are critical to halt the spread of the AIDS epidemic. However, homophobia and stigma and discrimination are major barriers to the implementation such interventions.
