How is the information on the card created?
Your MPP is created utilizing information drawn for the Midshipman Information System (MIDS). This is
the same system used for mailings from USNA. If information is incorrect your midshipman should go
into MIDS and correct it. After this is done the midshipman should send an e-mail stating the
information has been updated to
parkingandaccess@usna.edu
and a new card will be issued via mail.
What happens if I forget my card?
Midshipmen parents can go to the Pass and ID office located outside of gate 8 and receive a temporary
vehicle specific pass that will allow them access to USNA. After 1600 or on the weekends go to gate
8 and the sentry will contact the duty officer to facilitate entry.
What if the information is incorrect?
Minor errors such as "Dave" instead of "David" are acceptable. If there is a major error, such
as a wrong address or incorrect last name then your Midshipman should go into MIDS and correct it. Parents may
request corrections by sending an e-mail to
parkingandaccess@usna.edu and a new

How long is the Midshipman Parent’s pass good for?
The MPP is valid as long as your midshipman is enrolled at USNA and expires two weeks after graduation.
What do I do if I lose my card?
Immediately report it to parkingandaccess@usna.edu
Can other relatives get a card?
No. MPPs are issued to parents only. If parents are divorced a separate card will be issued for each
parent and step-parent.
When will I get my MPP?
The first issue of MPP mailings for all classes was completed 23 Jun 2006. New class information is
available the second week of June and cards will be processed and sent out shortly thereafter. Every
effort is made to get these to the incoming class prior to I-Day. If you do not receive your pass prior
to travel to USNA, bring your acceptance letter that includes your Midshipman’s Alpha number and a
temporary pass will be provided to you. If you do not have the letter we will verify that your
midshipman is enrolled and issue you a temporary pass.
