Conflict Zone

In this area of the PEC, visitors will learn about the phases of violent conflict. They will also learn about the tools and techniques peacebuilders can use to help prevent the outbreak of fighting, make peace when fighting occurs, and stabilize war-torn societies after fighting ends.

Visitors entering this space will see a large video map of the world connected to a series of learning stations. Here visitors learn that while violent conflicts are occurring throughout the world, a significant number of peacebuilding efforts are also underway. The learning stations will allow visitors to learn more about specific conflicts.

Another exhibit entitled "Why People Fight" will explore some of the many sources of conflicts, such as social injustice, economic inequality, ethnic or religious differences, resource competition, etc.
