DRIVING DIRECTIONS TO US. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS MAIN OFFICE, DETROIT, MI

From Detroit Metropolitan Airport and Ann Arbor:

Take I-94 east to Detroit. Exit from I-94 at US-10 south (Lodge Freeway) to downtown. Stay in the far right lane and exit immediately on Howard Street. At the top of the ramp (at light) turn left. Go through two lights and make a left onto Second Street; after a short block turn right onto Abbot Street. Note: See Parking instructions below.

From Lansing:

Take I 96 to Novi; follow signs for I-696, (left hand lanes in Farmington Hills); head east for 6 miles; follow signs to US-10 (Lodge Freeway) to Downtown Detroit (this will be three right lanes). In approximately 10 or so miles you will pass I-75 exits, stay in the far right lane and exit immediately onto Howard Street. At the top of the ramp (at light) turn left. Go through two lights. Take a left onto Second Street; after a short block turn right onto Abbot Street. Note: See Parking instructions below

From Sarnia, Ontario, Canada:

After crossing into the U.S., take I-94 west all the way to downtown Detroit. You will go past the I-75 interchange (Chrysler Freeway) and exit onto US-10 (Lodge Freeway, South). This is a left-hand exit, so try to be in the left lane after you pass over I-75. Follow the Lodge Freeway south, approximately I mile. You will go under I-75 again (at this point its the Fisher Freeway), get in the right hand lane and exit at the next exit (which is the Howard Street exit). At the top of the ramp (at light) turn left. Go through two lights and make a left onto Second Street; after a short block turn right onto Abbot Street. NOTE: See Parking instructions below .

From Windsor, Ontario:

After crossing into the U.S. through the tunnel and passing through U.S. Customs, take a right on Jefferson Avenue, take the first available turnaround onto Jefferson heading south (or west), stay in right hand lanes. At Washington Boulevard (in front of Cobo Hall), make a right onto Washington Boulevard and go three blocks to Fort Street. Make a left onto Fort Street, go four blocks then make a right onto Third Street; go two blocks and make a right onto Abbot Street. NOTE: See Parking instructions below.

Parking Instructions:

Parking meters in the immediate area of the McNamarra Building are available. Two-hours (maximum allowed) of metered parking costs approximately $2.00, while surface lot parking (adjacent to the McNamara Building) is $5.00 per day. 

Entering the Patrick V. McNamarra Federal Building:

The Patrick V. McNamara Federal Building is located at 477 Michigan Avenue in downtown Detroit, Michigan. The building occupies a full city block and is surrounded by Michigan Avenue, Cass Street, Howard Street and Second Street. The main entrance into the building is located on Michigan Avenue and the entire building is under 24-hour security. The building is only open to the public Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. and is closed on all federal holidays.

To get to the Detroit District Headquarters, located on the 6th and 7th floors, proceed to the center corridor of elevators after you pass through security (signs will read floors M-11.) The District Executive Office is located on the 7th floor. Once there, signs will help direct you to the office. The District?s main conference room (Lake Superior Conference Room) is located on the 6th floor. Signs on that floor will direct you.

There is a food court located in the basement of the building, which offers a variety of fast food from cafeteria-style food to pizzas, subs, and a salad bar. The food court?s operating hours are: 6:30-10 a.m. and from 11 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. There is also a convenience store for miscellaneous items located in the basement next to the food court. The store's hours of operation are: 6 a.m.- 4 p.m., 

The District Headquarters is located within a 5 to 10 minute walk from a number of restaurants, hotels, professional sports facilities, theaters, shops and numerous entertainment establishments. The citys public transportation, the Detroit People Mover, is located near the building on Cass Street and can take you to all parts of downtown Detroit.
