Midshipmen having fun with Aerospace Engineering
The laboratory facilities, electronic classroom, and satellite station provide an
educational experience beyond comparison to nearly any other under-graduate
institution. The department provides students with hands-on learning above and
beyond what could take place in the traditional classroom setting. These photos
provide insight into those opportunities.

These midshipmen are in the astronautics track of
Aerospace Engineering and are learning about the Satellite Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (SAIL). The astronautics track's recent addition is the Space Systems Laboratory, located in
the Electronic Classroom where these midshipmen are working on the terminals.

In the spring semester of their 2/C year,
the class of 2007 traveled to Ft. Worth, TX to visit the Lockheed Martin
manufacturing plant which is the home of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter. The
class photo was taken in front of a full scale model of the jet.
