Disaster Recovery Center To Open In Beaumont

Houston, TX -- A Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) is scheduled to open in Beaumont, Texas, to serve those affected by the severe weather and flooding that began on October 24.
On Saturday, November 16, the DRC will open at St. Andrews Church Hall, 1350 North 23rd St. in Beaumont, Texas.
The center will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, November 16 and on Sunday, November 17, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. After that, regular DRC hours will be Mon. -- Sat. from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sundays from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice.
Qualified personnel staff the centers to provide recovery information and written materials about various assistance programs available to individuals and business owners. Disaster programs include disaster housing assistance, grants for disaster-related needs, low-interest loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration, disaster unemployment assistance and crisis counseling.
State Coordinating Officer Duke Mazurek and Federal Coordinating Officer Sandy Coachman urge those with questions to visit the center.
"We want all those who have disaster assistance questions to feel free to visit the DRC," said Duke Mazurek. "If you need help, please visit any DRC."
