Honolulu, HI -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), U. S. Small Business Administration (SBA) and State Civil Defense (SCD) will open a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Pahala at the Pahala Community Center 10 a.m. Friday, Nov. 17, 2000. The center will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. this Friday and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. next Friday, Nov. 24, 2000.

Residents and businesses affected by the storms will be able to meet face-to-face with representatives of FEMA, SBA and other appropriate state and federal agencies at the DRC.

Those who sustained losses from the recent storms and flooding should first register for assistance by calling the FEMA toll-free number 1-800-462-9029. For hearing or speech impaired call 1-800-462-7585 (TTY). The teleregistration number is available from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven days a week until further notice.
