Disaster Recovery Centers Will End Operations

JACKSON, Tenn. A mobile disaster recovery center will make four additional stops during its last week in operation to assist residents who have applied for state and federal disaster aid following the tornadoes of April 2 and 7.
"We want to make sure everyone who wants to meet with federal and state assistance workers gets the opportunity to do so," said Michael E. Bolch, the newly arrived official in charge of recovery operations for the Federal Emergency Management Agency.
The mobile unit, staffed by representatives from FEMA, the Tennessee Emergency Management Agency and the U.S. Small Business Administration, will be available at the following locations:

The fixed site in Sumner County will close its door at 7 p.m. on May 5. It is located in the Gallatin Public Utility Building at 239 Hancock Street in Gallatin .
Although the DRCs will end operations, residents still may register or get information by calling FEMA toll free at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or at 1-800-462-7585 for the speech or hearing impaired. Phone lines are open daily from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until further notice. Residents also can visit www.fema.gov on the Internet.
