KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Residents and business owners in St. Louis city and county, who sustained damage from storms in July, have only one more week to apply for disaster assistance. Friday, December 18 is the last day applications will be taken through the toll-free registration number. That is also the deadline for submitting loan applications to the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) for disaster-related losses to real and personal property.

Federal and state disaster recovery officials urge those who have not done so to apply as soon as possible by calling the toll-free registration line at 1-800-462-9029, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Hearing or speech-impaired persons may call the TTY registration number at 1-800-462-7585.

Renters, homeowners or business owners in St. Louis city or county and sustained damages in the July 10-31 storms and flooding may be eligible for disaster aid. Applicants may qualify for assistance under several federal and state programs such as disaster housing assistance, U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) low-interest disaster loans, or grants for serious disaster-related needs not covered by insurance or other programs.
