Miami, FL -- The number of residents requiring disaster-related information at the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Liberty City is diminishing, according to federal and state officials. As a result, the DRC located at the Caleb Center (3rd floor), 5400 NW 22nd Ave. in Liberty City will adjust center hours.

New center hours are as follows:

Mon. - Fri. (May 5-9) 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Saturdays (beginning May 10) 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Sundays (beginning May 11) closed
Mon. - Fri. (beginning May 12) 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

In the future, the hours may again be adjusted to better serve those who need service.

"We are pleased that more than 250 people have visited the center for information, and representatives from state and federal agencies have been able to assist them," said Federal Coordinating Officer Justo Hernandez. "We encourage those who may still need disaster information to visit the DRC."

The FEMA toll-free registration line continues to be open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week until further notice. Those who still need to register may call 1- 800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY: 1-800-462-7585 for the hearing- or speech- impaired.

The deadline to apply for disaster assistance is June 24th.
