Career Paths at GAO
Information Technology Management
Information Systems and Technology Services (ISTS) staff are involved in managing information systems and providing technology services that allow GAO to accomplish its mission. In this career path, staff may work in a variety of different specialty areas, including networking; telecommunications; application development; Web services; enterprise architecture and IT security; and work with computers, network components, peripheral equipment, software, firmware, services, and related resources. The work requires knowledge of government practices, regulations, and policies related to IT; the ability to apply the principles of IT management and project management; and technical knowledge together with the ability to work with others and translate business requirements into technical requirements.
