Denver, CO -- The fifth annual Technology Partnership for Emergency Management Workshop and Exhibition is scheduled for June 11-15, 2000, in Colorado Springs, CO. The interactive workshop is sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and hosted by the U. S. Department of Energy's National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).

The four-day workshop will feature presentations on technologies for responding to terrorism and school violence, arson, and cyber security. One of the highlights will be a demonstration of advanced solar technology applications for first responders and emergency managers.

The workshop is structured to find new ways to improve emergency preparedness and response to all forms of disasters by adapting defense and advanced technology to modern domestic response needs.
