Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers Visit New Declared Disaster Counties

URBANDALE, Iowa -- Mobile Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs) will visit the new disaster-declared counties of Audubon, Crawford, and Monona Counties, June 28-July 7, according to the Iowa Homeland Security and Emergency Management Division (HSEMD) and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).
Complete details on visits to these counties are in the schedule below. The centers serve individuals and families affected by severe storms, flooding, and tornadoes that occurred on May 5-7.
Representatives of state, federal and voluntary agencies will be on hand to answer questions and provide recovery information. Officials from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) will be available to discuss disaster loans for homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes. Written materials about various assistance programs are also available to individuals and business owners.
Before visiting one of the mobile centers, disaster victims are urged to register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or on-line at www.fema.gov. The TTY number is 1 800 462 7585 for the hearing- or speech-impaired. Those who have questions may visit a mobile center to meet with recovery specialists in person. The mobile DRCs are open from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
