WICHITA, Kan. -- The Haviland Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) at Barclay College in Hockett Auditorium, 100 East Elm St., Kiowa County, will close at 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 30. Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Representatives will relocate to the Disaster Recovery Center in Greensburg, located just east of the courthouse.

Other Disaster Recovery Center locations:

All Disaster Recovery Centers are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on Sundays. They will be closed July 4 in observance of Independence Day. Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) are available in the centers to provide information on registering for disaster assistance and rebuilding with hazard mitigation measures.

FEMA's Individual Assistance program can assist eligible applicants with temporary housing assistance, uninsured medical, dental, and funeral expenses caused by the disaster, crisis counseling services, and other serious unmet needs.

Kansans in eligible counties must register for help now because July 5 is the last day individuals can apply for assistance. To register for disaster assistance, please call the toll-free registration line at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or (TTY) 1-800-462-7585 from Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. CDT. Registration is also available anytime online at www.fema.gov.

U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) representatives are also at all the DRCs to meet with homeowners, renters, or business owners and answer questions about the SBA disaster loan program, provide help in completing disaster loan applications and to accept completed applications. Anyone unable to visit a DRC should call 1-800-659-2955 for SBA assistance or visit the website at: www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.
