Disaster Recovery Center Opens in Woodland Park

Denver, CO -- Local officials are providing a location for the Colorado Office of Emergency Management, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) to establish a Disaster Recovery Center in Woodland Park to assist individuals affected by the recent wildfires. The center will be open Monday, July 1, and will be located at:

151 N. Baldwin
Woodland Park, CO
Hours of operation will be from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. The center will be open July 1-14.
"This is an opportunity for people to sit down and talk face-to-face with someone that can answer questions about their recovery needs," said Tommy Grier, state coordinating officer for the disaster.
Recovery teams will be available at the center to answer questions and provide recovery information about various assistance programs to affected individuals and business owners. Disaster programs include temporary housing assistance, individual and family grants, low-interest disaster loans and disaster temporary unemployment insurance. This is also an opportunity for homeowners to receive information about wildfire mitigation and safety tips.
"We're trying to make the process easier by bringing recovery teams close to people in the communities and rural areas where they live," said Federal Coordinating Officer Steve Emory.
"We encourage anyone who needs disaster assistance information to visit the center," Grier said. "But the only way to apply for disaster assistance is by calling the FEMA toll-free registration number."
Individuals affected by the fires are urged to start the application process before visiting the center by calling FEMA's toll-free number at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Hearing and speech-impaired individuals may call 1-800-462-7585 (TTY).
