Keeseville Disaster Recovery Center To Remain Open Two Extra Days

Albany, NY -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the New York State Emergency Management Office (SEMO) are extending the operation of the Keeseville Disaster Recovery Center for two additional days due to the high attendance during the Center's first three days of operation.
The Center's location and hours of operation are as follows:

Thursday, June 6 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Friday, June 7 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The Center is open to individuals from the six declared counties-Clinton, Essex, Franklin, Hamilton, Washington, and Warren-who suffered damage to their home or business property in the April 20 AuSable Forks earthquake.
Individuals who had property damage are urged to apply for assistance first by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY). After they have registered, people can call the FEMA HELPLine at 1-800-525-0321 or visit the Disaster Recovery Center if they need assistance or have questions about their application.
"We urge people to call the HELPLine if they have any questions about the disaster assistance process," said Federal Coordinating Officer Marianne C. Jackson. "Or they can go to the Disaster Recovery Center to meet face-to-face with disaster experts if they choose."
"We are keeping the Disaster Recovery Center open for two extra days to give applicants the opportunity to come in and get help with their application," said Edward F. Jacoby, Jr., State Coordinating Officer and Director of SEMO. "I urge anyone needing additional information to drop by the Center or to call the HELPLine."
Individuals may go to the Center to:
- Learn common-sense measures to reduce the impact of future earthquakes;
- Receive help in filling out low-interest SBA loan applications for homeowners, renters and businesses;
- Learn more about available disaster assistance programs.
The Center is staffed with disaster experts including representatives from FEMA, various state agencies and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA). Information is available on housing, agricultural and disaster loans available for homeowners, renters, businesses of all sizes and non-profit organizations affected by the disaster.
