FEMA Names Acting Officials For Transition

Seattle, WA -- Tamara (Tammy) Doherty has been designated as Acting Regional Director for FEMA Region 10, a jurisdiction spanning the states of Alaska, Idaho, Oregon and Washington. Mrs. Doherty has been with FEMA for over seventeen years in a number of management positions, working closely with state and local governments to help them mitigate natural disaster hazards and prepare their communities to better respond to emergency situations. She was selected as Deputy Regional Director in December 1999.
Before coming to FEMA, Doherty worked in the Department of Education, the Federal Highway Administration, and the Panama Canal Company.
