Disaster Recovery Center Opens In Windsor

DENVER, Co. -- The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), the Colorado Department of Emergency Management (CDEM) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) announce the opening of a Disaster Recovery Center (DRC) in Windsor today.
A DRC provides an opportunity for residents to meet face-to-face with representatives from state and federal agencies and find answers to questions they may have about the recovery process. The new Windsor DRC will serve victims of severe storms and tornadoes on May 22. Individuals are encouraged to apply for assistance before visiting the DRC.
The location of the Windsor DRC will be:

Hours of operation will be daily, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. until further notice.
Individuals can register for assistance by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362), or TTY 1-800-462-7585 for those who are hearing or speech-impaired. FEMA operators are available 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. seven days a week, until further notice. Registration can also be completed online at www.fema.gov.
SBA representatives at the DRC will be available to meet individually with each resident or business owner to answer questions about the SBA disaster loan program, help them complete their disaster loan application and accept their completed applications. Anyone not able to visit a center should call 1-800-659-2955 or visit the SBA Web site at www.sba.gov/services/disasterassistance.
The Colorado Division of Housing (CDOH), in coordination with the CDEM, will have staff onsite to assist with short- and long-term housing issues.
FEMA coordinates the Federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terrorism.
