Disaster Recovery Centers To Close In Jasper, Greene, Shannon And Butler Counties

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Residents of Jasper, Greene, Shannon and Butler counties affected in the mid-March flooding have one week remaining  to visit their local Disaster Recovery Centers (DRCs), announced the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

The locations and closing dates are:

Jasper County DRC
Bethany Presbyterian Church

Greene County DRC
American Red Cross Warehouse

Closes Saturday, May 10, at 1 p.m.

Shannon County DRC

Closes Saturday, May 10, 1 p.m.

Butler County DRC

Closes Saturday, May 10, 1 p.m.

The Butler DRC will convert to a U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Disaster Loan Outreach Center (DLOC). The DLOC will open Monday, May 12. Hours will be Monday-Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 a.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.  SBA customer service representatives will be available to help with SBA loan applications, the primary source of long-term recovery assistance.

SBA loans are the primary source of long-term recovery assistance. Completing the SBA loan application is also necessary to be considered for some forms of disaster assistance, but there is no requirement to take out a loan.

After the DRCs close, disaster help will still be available via FEMA's registration helpline, 1-800-621-FEMA (3362) or TTY 1-800-462-7585.

FEMA coordinates the federal government's role in preparing for, preventing, mitigating the effects of, responding to, and recovering from all domestic disasters, whether natural or man-made, including acts of terror.
