Disaster Recovery Center In Melbourne To Close Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla. -- One of Brevard County's three Disaster Recover Centers (DRCs) will close Sunday at 6 p.m., state and federal recovery officials announced.

The center is located at:

Grant Street Community Center
2547 Grant St.
Melbourne

The DRC served individuals, households and businesses affected by Tropical Storm Fay and continued flooding. Two centers remain open in Brevard County (503 N. John Rodes Blvd. in Melbourne and another at the Agricultural Center, 3695 Lake Drive in Cocoa). Registered applicants can visit any DRC for help.

Survivors can also stay in touch with a recovery specialist by using the FEMA Helpline option at 800-621-FEMA (3362) or the TTY line for the deaf, hard of hearing and speech impaired at 800-462-7585 from 7 a.m. to midnight daily until further notice. On the Web, disaster information remains available 24 hours a day at www.fema.gov.

Homeowners, renters and businesses should use the same toll-free lines or website to register for FEMA disaster assistance programs.
