Mobile Help Center to Serve Fort Apache Indian Reservation

Tempe, AZ -- The Arizona Division of Emergency Management, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA), in conjunction with the White Mountain Apache Indian Tribe, will activate a mobile Help Center to assist those affected by the recent wildfires.
Tuesday, July 2, the mobile center will begin serving those on the Fort Apache Indian Reservation at White River. Representatives from FEMA, SBA and the Arizona Department of Economic Security will staff the center.
The team will be at the Veteran's Building, 201 E. Walnut, White River until further notice. Additional locations may be added as determined necessary by the tribal leaders. The center will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Individuals can check the status of their application, receive information on programs, register for assistance and speak to program representatives. People affected by the disaster may also be referred to other agencies for help.
Both state and federal officials encourage people to take advantage of this assistance. "We want everyone to get the help they need in this trying time," said State Coordinating Officer Michael P. Austin, director of the Arizona Division of Emergency Management, " The mobile unit is especially convenient for those who cannot travel to the other Help Center locations."
