| | Rod Murray Rodrick “Rod” Murray is host and producer of the Hip Hop Connection show at the Voice of America. He is also an International Radio Broadcaster, writing segments for Africa World Tonight and producing and directing live news magazine shows. A Chicago native, Rod earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Winston-Salem State University, where he was a radio personality and music director at the school’s radio station WSNC-FM 90. « back to top

Jantae Hamilton

| | Jantae Hamilton Jantae joined the Hip Hop Connection family in 2001 and handled much of the show’s public relations. She later made her mark as the entertainment news reporter and also served as host for two television programs. Also branching out into acting, Jantae has been featured in the 2003 hit music video Put That Woman First by R&B star Jaheim. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree in public relations from Bowie State University in Maryland. « back to top

Dwayne Collins

| | Dwayne Collins Dwayne Collins shares his talents of producing, directing, and mixing music for Hip Hop Connection, where he is also an on air personality. Dwayne has been active in the broadcasting and music industries for nearly two decades, working as a DJ and music director as well as producer for shows on VOA’s Africa News Now and Asia News Now. Dwayne earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Elizabeth City State University. Dwayne is a member of the National Association of Black Journalists. He also enjoys mentoring young professionals and has received recognition for this work by the Broadcast ing Board of Governors. « back to top

Dee Dee Barron

| | Dee Dee Barron Dee Dee is the newest member of the Hip Hop Connection family. She came to Voice of America in 1992 as an intern with the music library. She briefly left to pursue medicine, but realized music is her first love and she returned to VOA as a production assistant. Dee Dee catalogs and records music and scripts and also edits, produces and directs radio programs. In 2004, Dee Dee was named VOA’s “Employee of the Year” and subsequently, Rod Murray asked her to join Hip Hop Connection. « back to top
