OK, here's another source of my confusion. In the previous message,
Rebecca, you said that MODS is intended to be "compatible with library
data". I didn't understand that MODS can only carry data elements that are
also in the MARC record -- is that the case? Or do you mean here that it
was initially derived from MARC.... but can grow from there?
