It depends on what type of citations you use. Author-year styles are
in good shape (as as well citekey), since this is what I use.
I had footnote/endnote style working, but now have to redo that because
of other changes. Same with numbered styles common in the hard
sciences.
Both of these last two are difficult in ways different than the
author-year.
Anyway, examples are included, but I've posted them separately as well:

Both are formatted using the exact same source (docbook + mods)
document; output is configurable with a fairly simple XML file.
