Losing the name/title granularity is probably a bad thing, as it
limits what can be done with the data later. If the granularity has
already been lost, it should be recoverable by parsing the extremely
regular punctution, or by automated lookup in the authority file.
It is still unclear why <relatedItem type="constituent"> does not
suffice. The authorized form of the name and title can both be
present in the relatedItem, and are therefore available for
processing. That other information can be contained in relatedItem is
beside the point, so long as one can elect to access only the desired
information at whatever critical point during processing.
Some more information about role of nameTitle would be useful. Is it
an access point? Would it drive some user interface feature? Is it
just an identifier for a constituent part?
