Science Ambassador Lecturer Biography
Influencing Public Health: From Research to Policy
This presentation provided Science Ambassadors with information about how public health research is translated into practice. The presentation outlined methods of policy making including legislation, regulation, recommendations and guidelines, and its place in intervention programs.
Caroline Lagoy, MPH
Ms. Caroline Lagoy is a public health analyst with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities in the Division of Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2001 with a BS in microbiology and the University of Michigan School of Public Health in 2004 with an MPH in epidemiology. In 2004, Ms. Lagoy was selected as a finalist for the Presidential Management Fellows program, a management development program for graduate students intending to pursue a career in public service. She is currently finishing the first year of her fellowship.
