}I am basically looking for a field that distinguishes PUBLISHER BOUND or
}LIBRARY HOUSE BOUND. Is there a specific subfield within $563?
Normally the basic MARC record contains only information which would apply
to every copy of an edition. Information which would apply only to the
copy in hand, such a local binding, would normally be in an item record or
a holdings record. (In our system that would be 090$r, but it differs
system to system. Another possibility is 590, local note.)
Such binding differences as "(pbk.)" or "(black leather)" are given as
qualifier of the ISBN in 020$a. If no ISBN, or the same ISBN applies to
all bindings, these qualifications are given after the differing prices in
020$c, e.g., "(lib. bdg.)".

}
}At the request of the British the UKMARC field 563 for binding
}information
}has been added to MARC21. My understanding is that it is intended for
}rare
}book cataloguing.
