4-1/2d brown. The New Brunswick stamps include: a LR plate proof block of 16
in black (for the one shilling bright red violet) with SPECIMEN overprint
(1851) and a New Brunswick sheet of 100 for the two cents orange, without
gum (1863)

545 0 $aJ. Ronald Saint is a prominent collector of BNA Postage Stamps and a
postal historian. He was born December 13, 1928 in Kensington, PEI, of
Newfoundland parents. He spent his youth in Amherst, N.S. Mr. Saint began
his career in the banking industry, but later moved to insurance and estate
planning. He has lived in the Maritimes, Toronto, and Ottawa. His collecting
interests have, in recent years, focused on the Maritime provinces of
Canada. His two major philatelic collections, reproduced in facsimile form
within the holdings of the Canadian Postal Archives, are New Brunswick :
stamps and postal history, and Prince Edward Island : stamps and postal
history. He has published numerous articles in both the PHSC Journal, and
BNA Topics. He is a member of the Transatlantic Mail Study Group (BNAPS) and
a life member of the Postal History Society of Canada. Mr. Saint has three
sons. He and his second wife live in Ottawa
