USDA ANNOUNCES 2001 COUNTY LOAN RATES FOR WHEAT, FEED GRAINS,
AND OILSEEDS

     WASHINGTON, May 31, 2001--The U.S. Department of
Agriculture today announced county loan rates for the 2001
crops of wheat, corn, grain sorghum, barley, oats, soybeans,
minor oilseeds (sunflower seed, flaxseed, canola, rapeseed,
safflower seed, and mustard seed), and other oilseeds (crambe
and sesame seed).

     The loan rates were determined in accordance with the
provisions of the Federal Agriculture Improvement and Reform
Act of 1996 and are derived from the national average loan
rates which were established as follows:
