My child's parent is trying to avoid paying...
  Question
My child's parent has put property in the name of somebody else to avoid paying child support. What can I do?
  Answer

Parents who owe child support, or "support obligors," who are actively evading child support may transfer title to their business and other assets to new spouses, friends, and relatives. This is called a fraudulent conveyance, which is a transfer of real or personal property without a fair price being paid. Your state or local child support office is the best source of information about pursuing an action for fraudulent conveyance in your state. We suggest that you continue to provide your CSE office any new or additional information on your case that may be helpful. State CSE agency telephone numbers and addresses are at: http://ocse.acf.hhs.gov/int/directories/index.cfm?fuseaction=main.extivdlist (English) http://ocse.acf.hhs.gov/int/directories/index.cfm?fuseaction=main.extEspanolIVDAll (Spanish) The state child support websites often provide the addresses and telephone numbers for local child support offices, as well as information about their programs. We link to the state sites at: http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cse/extinf.html For information about: Bankruptcy: Click Here
