For each country of the world gives the currency, its symbol or abbreviation, its subdivision, and other information. In English.

Maintained by the European Commission and the World Bank. Entering the name of a country in its internal search engine retrieves dozens if not hundreds of documents from the EC, the World Bank and the IMF.

FXHistory - Historical Currency Exchange Rates (http://www.oanda.com/convert/fxhistory)
Converts currencies for past years. The number of years covered varies according to country; for East European countries the earliest year is generally in the mid/late 1990s, whereas for West European countries the earliest year is in the early 1990s or before.
