Provides online access to its catalog and allows searching in English, Pinyin, and Chinese characters.

Electronic Index to the Early Shenbao (1872-1895)  (http://www.sino.uni-heidelberg.de/database/shenbao/)
Provides quick keyword access to the contents of the Shenbao, certainly the most important of the early Chinese-language Shanghai newspapers. Includes and English language day-by-day record of the subjects in the paper main articles, nearly all articles reprinted in Shenbao from the Hong Knog Press, a selection of news reports, official documents, and letters to the editor, and selected popular poetry describing local customs. The selection of the other items, such as news reports, official documents, letters to the editor, is based on their length and perceived importance of ongoing debates. Not indexed are the contents of the Shenbao reprints of the Jingbao (Peking Gazette) or advertisements.

Historic Chinese Language Materials in British Columbia / 加華文獻聚珍  (http://www.hclmbc.org/)
A database of over 11,000 records, in Chinese, from archives, museums, and libraries documenting major waves of Chinese settlements on Canada’s west coast. The documents include manuscripts, newspapers, correspondence, genealogical and family records, business records, records of associations, textbooks, photographs, catalogs, books, journals, etc., and links to organizations that hold Overseas Chinese historical materials. From the Asian Library and the Centre for Chinese Research, University of British Columbia, Vancouver. All fields in the catalog of the database are searchable in English, Pinyin, and Chinese characters.

The result of digital project that unites materials [from libraries and museums at Harvard] collected during four Harvard expeditions to South Central China and Tibet between 1924 and 2000, including herbarium and ornithological specimens, historic photographs by botanist/explorer Joseph Rock. A new feature of the Harvard library online catalog allows for searching across several local catalogs.
