State Budget Cuts Are Jeopardizing America's Health

A recent survey by ASTHO, the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials, has found that state budget cuts are hampering states' abilities to serve women, children, and families with such critical services as newborn screening and WIC programs.

The Benefits of Collaboration

One feature of the National Stakeholders Meeting is a chance for state teams to hear from previous NSM participants during the Learning from Experience panel.  Hearing from the panelists provides an overview of the activities state teams often undertake during and after NSM participation and highlights some of the project's successes, ranging from policy implementation, to curricula development, to previously unseen state-level coordination.

Post-Election Analysis

On November 10, 2008, AMCHP held a national teleconference to discuss what the 2008 elections may mean for the future of MCH programs and AMCHP's plans for working with the new administration and Congress during and after the presidential transition.
