Luxembourg Society for Linguistic, Ethnological and Dialectic Studies was established in 1935 as a department of the Institut Grand-Ducal. It promotes and provides information on research in linguistics, ethnology, etymology, and onomastics, and it updates and publishes Luxemburger Wörterbuch, the official dictionary of the Luxembourgish language.
