The Media & Culture archive of the Centre for the Study of Culture and Society currently consists of nine databases. These databases cover the field of contemporary cultural studies in South Asia, and constitute the research outcome of projects housed in or conducted by CSCS faculty, and in languages (English, Kannada, Telugu) that currently form the central focus of CSCS work.

Agency under the Dept. of Industrial Development, Ministry of Commerce and Industry established by the Explosives Act of 1884. The Department is responsible for scrutiny and approval of site, layout and construction plans for all facilities dealing with explosives, the licensing of storage and transport of explosives, and the training of all police, security, port, airport, and railway personnel involved with explosives. Agency under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, responsible for economic policies regarding food distribution in India. Agency under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare responsible standards in medical education in colleges and universities, development of pharmaceutical standards for Indian systems of traditional medicine and homeopathic drugs. The web site features information on Ayurvedic medicine, Unani medicine, homeopathy, Siddha medicine, yoga, naturopathy, educational institutions for traditional medicines, medicinal plants, and drug manufacturers. Agency with statuary authority for the implementation and monitoring of standards for the airworthiness, safety and operations of aircraft, flight crew training and standards, and air transport operations. The Embassy of India provides the full text of the Lahore Declaration, which was signed on February 21, 1999. India and Pakistan agreed to intensify their efforts to resolve all issues, including the issue of Jammu and Kashmir, and refrain from interfering in each country's internal affairs.

Agency with the mandate to "ensure food security in India and to support the Consumer Movement." Provides organizational information the Ministry's two main components: the Department of Food and Public Distribution and the Department of Consumer Affairs. Includes daily retail price information on commodities such as sugar, edible oils and basic foodstuffs, annual reports, official policies, press releases, and information on cooperatives and standards. Established in 1988, the Ministry works to develop a strong food processing sector, to create increased job opportunities in rural areas, to enable the farmers to reap benefit from modern technology, to create surplus for exports, and to stimulate demand for processed food. The web site features annual reports (archived since 1990), food policies and sectors, statistical information by state, and links to international groups concerned with food processing.

India's oldest government agency, established in 1833, includes four departments: Legislative Department, Department of Legal Affairs, Department of Justice, and Department of Company Affairs. Provides text of many of the Law Commissions and the National Commission to Review the Working of the Constitution. Most departments include texts of laws and acts, annual reports, and statistics. Some information available in Hindi.

Two agencies formed from the defunct Ministry of Surface Transport responsible for formulating and implementing India's policies concerning "ship building and ship repair, major ports, national waterways, ship chartering, national highways, road transport, inland water transport and transport research." The site contains a brief history, organizational structure, external links to major ports, texts of procedures and policies, five year plan data, and subordinate offices.
