A listing of Ukrainian portals and Web sites that provide links to resources relating to education. Extensive lists of colleges and universities are available through such portals such as BRAINTRACK which links to universities; and General Education Online. The University of Oulu, in Finland, provides a listing of the Best Indices of Colleges and Universities World-wide.

The Education Resources Information Center (ERIC), sponsored by the Institute of Education Sciences (IES) of the U.S. Department of Education, produces the ERIC database, which contains more than 1.2 million citations going back to 1966. More than 100,000 full-text non-journal documents (issued since 1993) are available in .pdf format.



American Association for Ukrainian Studies (AAUS) (http://www.ukrainianstudies.org)
A nonprofit educational organization dedicated to furthering knowledge about Ukraine, popularizing Ukrainian studies, providing career-building resources to its members, and making the intellectual resources of the organization available to the media and general public. Includes Links to Web sites of interest for Ukrainian studies.

Canadian Institute of Ukrainian Studies (CIUS) (http://www.ualberta.ca/~cius/)
Founded in 1976, CIUS is dedicated to the development of Ukrainian studies in Canada and supports such studies internationally. Site includes links to the CIUS Press, centers and programs, grants and scholarships, and news and events. Searchable.

Central and Eastern European Education Directory (http://www.ceebd.co.uk/ceeed/)
Aims to provide comprehensible information on undergraduate and graduate programs offered by over 1,300 academic establishments in Central and Eastern Europe, Russia, and the CIS. A profile of the education system in Ukraine is provided at: http://www.euroeducation.net/prof1/ukrco.htm. Links to academic courses in Europe, education and qualification worldwide, and more. Harvard Ukrainian Research Institute (HURI)(http://www.huri.harvard.edu)
Founded in 1973, HURI seeks to advance knowledge about Ukraine in the United States through research and teaching of the highest quality. Links to information about HURI, news and publications, library (Ukrainian collection), and more. Searchable.

Includes links to the Ministry's organizational structure, staff directory with biographical notes, online government publications, and news and announcements. In Ukrainian.

National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (http://www.nas.gov.ua)
Information on the Academy, news and reports, and more. In Ukrainian and Russian, some English.

Osvita.info (http://www.osvita.info)
Focused on informatics in Ukraine. In Ukrainian and Russian.

Shevchenko Scientific Society (http://www.shevchenko.org)
The New York-based Shevchenko Scientific Society, founded in 1873 in Lviv, organizes and sponsors scholarly conferences, colloquia, symposia, and public lectures; participates in national and international scholarly conferences and congresses on Ukrainian and/or Slavic Studies; and provides research grants for scholars and stipends for qualified students. Site includes a calendar, library catalog, information about grants, newsletter, and an annotated bibliography of works on the Ukrainian famine of 1932-33.
