Provides election results for each country's latest presidential and parliamentary elections.

For each country, the site links to ministries and other national institutions, municipal institutions, diplomatic representations abroad, and political parties; with many links to additional resources. In English.

Local Government

Local Government and Public Service Reform Initiative (http://lgi.osi.hu)
LGI (based in Budapest, funded by the Soros Foundation) promotes local government, public policy and public administration reform in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. The 'Publications' section provides full texts of several monographs, discussion papers, documents and its quarterly journal (formerly a newsletter).

Provides extensive links for each country's government, political parties and the media. In English.

Political Transformation and the Electoral Process in Post-Communist Europe (http://www.essex.ac.uk/elections/)
The University of Essex, UK, maintains this site, aimed at explaining the role of electoral systems in the democratization of post-Communist Europe. For each country it provides a wealth of detailed information and statistics on elections from the early 1990s to the present, under the following categories: legislation; election results; constituency data; and candidate data. In English.

The University of Richmond, in Virginia, provides this portal to constitutions world-wide. Most texts are in English, but some are in the vernacular languages. Offers constitutions, charters, amendments, and other related documents.

East European Constitutional Review (http://www.law.nyu.edu/eecr/index.html)
Issued by New York University School of Law, the journal East European Constitutional Review contains dozens of articles pertaining to East European countries. Archives begin with Spring/Summer 1997 and are keyword searchable.
