This pathfinder contains electronic resources on the history of Brazil which includes timelines, chronologies, biographical dictionaries, and auxiliary studies.

For information about additional historical resources at the Library of Congress, consult its online catalog (http://catalog.loc.gov). The most important source for bibliography of books and articles concerning Brazilian history is the annual Handbook of Latin American Studies (http://lcweb2.loc.gov/hlas/) produced by over 160 contributing editors under the editorship of the Hispanic Division of the Library of Congress. The Handbook is available in selected libraries in book form.   Additionally, one of the major aggregators for links to a wide variety of subjects relating to Brazilian history is the University of Texas' LANIC (http://lanic.utexas.edu/la/brazil/).


Brazilian Government Document Digitization Project (http://www.crl.edu/content.asp?l1=4&l2=18&l3=33)
The Latin American Microfilm Project (LAMP) at the Center for Research Libraries (CRL) provides links to digitized executive branch serial documents originally issued by Brazil's national government between 1821 and 1993, and by its provincial government from the earliest available document for each province to the end of the Empire to 1889. Contains information about the institution, archives, oral history, access to the abstracts of the periodical Revista Estudos Históricos, electronic bulletins, publications, services, partners, contact, requiring a login to the database after a free registration. Includes a chronological history of the presidents of Brazil from 1889 to 2001 as well as text about important historical events during each president's administration such as the Canudos campaign, the revolution of 1930, and the communist conspiracy of 1935, etc. In Portuguese.
