Created and maintained by the
 Asian Division
Collections and Services Directorate

This pathfinder includes information, links, and online bibliographies related to libraries and archives in South Korea.

The most important source for bibliographical information of books concerning Korea is the Korean Bibliography, a comprehensive and user-friendly bibliographic tool for researchers and scholars interested in Korean studies, prepared by the Korean Team of the Library of Congress. The Korean Team added a local topical term index to these records to provide added value for researchers who may not be familiar with the Library of Congress subject headings.

The Korean Serial Database is available through the Asian Division’s homepage of the Library of Congress. The Database provides researchers detailed information about the rich and diverse newspaper and periodical collections located throughout the Library of Congress. The data in this list may be searched via subject, English titles, newspapers, and even Korean titles.

Another site that one of note is that prepared by the Law Library of the Library of Congress for an annotated guide to sources of information on government and law available online on their Guide to Law Online.

Researchers may also want to consult the Country Studies of the Federal Research Division .

Around the World in the 1890s: Photographs from the World’s Transportation Commission, 1894-1896 at the Prints and Photographs Division includes images of various modes of transportation, and city, street and harbor views of Korea.
