Weekly periodical sponsored by China's "central information authorities" for the international community. Contains stories about China's political, social, economic and cultural life, tourist information, facts and documents. Archived since 2000. Printed English-language version also available. The website provides English, Chinese, French, German, Spanish and Japanese language versions.

On-line version of the daily that enjoys high readership among young Chinese because of its non-political focus. The site reprints news reports from the print version. Links to other affiliate publications. Archived since January 1999. Includes full-text search engine. In Chinese only.

A daily newspaper that covers news from China, Hong Kong and Taiwan in simplified and traditional Chinese, and in English. Contains stories about international events, international headlines, China's political, social, economic and cultural life.

This is a voluntary non-profit organization aimed at providing news and other information services to readers who are concerned primarily about China-related affairs.

Non-profit organization registered in Maryland, operated by volunteers. In Chinese (simplified) and English. Includes links to newsletters and online news magazines. Presents all political viewpoints. Also maintains CND InfoBase with selected but widely representative documents in Chinese and English, on the Cultural Revolution, China '89, China Scenery, Classic Literature, the Nanjing Massacre, and Modern History. The Classic Literature InfoBase includes Chinese classics in their original Chinese and English translations.

Online news service of Guangming Daily. Has links and search to news items. Only in Chinese.

Hong Kong Government News Update and Speeches  (http://www.info.gov.hk/isd/news/index.htm)
The Information Services Department of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China provides access to the full text of press releases for 1999-2001, searchable by month of publication. The transcripts of speeches delivered by the Chief Executive and senior government officials are also available, as well as current and previous weather reports and the current air pollution index.
