American Folk Music and Folklore Recordings: A Selected List
Each year between 1983 and 1992 the American Folklife Center
brought together a panel of experts to select the year's best audio
recordings of folklore and folk music and published a list of recommendations
titled American Folk Music and Folklore Recordings: A Selected
List. These booklets were distributed free of charge to libraries,
schools, and individuals seeking quality recordings of grass roots
music and folklore.
Some of these publications are now out of stock. The texts of
the issues produced between 1988 and 1992 are available online
(see below). Those requesting print versions of these and earlier
issues should contact the Center to
inquire about availablility.
