The
Olympics: A Guide to Reference Sources
Library of Congress Resources: NewspapersOne may determine the Library's newspaper holdings, both domestic
and foreign, through the reference staff in the Newspaper
and Current Periodical Reading Room, LM133. Although this reading room has
holdings of English-language newspapers from Asian countries, the depth of coverage
will be somewhat less than the Asian- language papers, which are held by the
Asian Division, LA132. The Olympic
coverage in these newspapers is useful for topics such as the Tokyo and Seoul
Olympics, and Beijing's unsuccessful bid for the 2000 summer games.
Issues of Slavic-language newspaper titles published in the Cyrillic
alphabet are in the European Reading
Room, LJ 249.
Use the chart listing the dates of the Olympic Games
to aid in locating articles in newspapers that are not indexed.
