Directions & Lake History/Factoid
Directions: Mahoning Creek Lake is only 12 miles southeast of New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, and 7 miles northwest of Dayton, Pennsylvania. Follow the brown Mahoning Lake directional signs to the project.
Factoid: Situated among steep sided valleys and forested hillsides, Mahoning Creek Lake is surrounded by breathtaking scenery. Blessed with clean water and a varied thriving fish population. In 1971, one of the largest Northern Pike ever recorded (42-7/8) was reeled in from the waters below Mahoning Dam. Mahoning is also known for its abundant Turkey and Ruffed Grouse populations.
