The Veterans History Project (VHP) of the American Folklife Center collects and preserves the extraordinary wartime stories of ordinary people. We encourage students, in grades 10 and above, and youth groups to participate and take advantage of this wonderful opportunity to make a permanent contribution to the historical record of the nation.

Over 4000 digital collections from the Veterans History Project are now available on the Web. They contain video and audio interviews, written memoirs, photographs, letters, art work, and many other miscellaneous items. The full online collection is keyword searchable and a special web-site, Experiencing War, highlights compelling stories, based on various themes.
